Step I. Warm-up
1. Greeting
A: Good morning, boys and girls!
B: Good morning, teacher!
A: How are you?
B: I’m fine, thanks. How are you?
A: I’m OK. Thank you! Sit down, please.
2. Lead in
T: (show pictures) Look, what’s this in English?
Ss: It’s a hat / a bag / a jacket.
T: I want to buy some clothing. Do you want to go shopping with me?
Ss: Yes.
T: OK. Let’s go! (show a store picture)
Step II. Presentation
1. Teach the new words. (show some pictures )
T: What’s this in English?
Ss: It’s a T-shirt / a sweater / a skirt.
T: What’re these in English?
Ss: They’re socks / shoes / trousers / shorts.
2. Game: knowledge competition.
Teacher shows pictures, let the students race to be first to answer a question.
Answers: hat / shoes / jacket / skirt / shorts / sweater / T-shirt / bag / socks / trousers.
3. Activity 1a.
T: Match the words with the things in the picture.
Ss: ...
T: Let’s check the answers!

4. Show some pictures to learn money

A: How much are these socks?
B: They’re two dollars.
6. Activity 1b.
T: Listen and circle the things you hear in the picture in 1a. Are you clear?
Ss: Yes!
(T plays the typescripts, then check the answers.)

1. Pair-work. Activity 1c. Practice the conversation with your partner. Then make your own conversation.
