一、教学目标:
1. 语言知识目标:
1) 能掌握以下单词: invitation, reply, forward, delete, print, sad, goodbye, take a trip, glad, preparation, glue, without, surprised, look forward to, hear from
2) 能掌握以下句型:
①I look forward to hearing from you all.
②I’d still be glad to help out with any of the party preparation.
3) 通过阅读邀请函来掌握必要的信息。
2. 情感态度价值观目标:
学会人际交往的基本常识,学会有礼貌地邀请别人以及回答别人的邀请的方式。理解“义务”涵义,学会承担自己应尽的义务,能够在班级以及社会生活中担当一定的责任。理解人与人之间的真情,学会珍惜朋友之间、师生之间的友情。
二、教学重难点
1. 教学重点:
1) 掌握本课时出现的生词及表达方式。
2) 阅读短文,获得相关信息,提高学生们的综合阅读能力。

1. 阅读2b部分的短文并完成相关要求。
三、教学过程
Ⅰ. Warming- up and revision
1. Pairwork
A: Hello! … Can you come to my party ?
B: When is it?
A:Next week, on …
B: Sure, I’d love to/ Sorry, I can’t. I have to prepare for an exam
2. Talk about different kinds of parties.
T: I was born on Dec. 29th. Every year I hold a birthday party to celebrate it. In our lives, there are many other parties. Can you say some other parties? Ss discuss the parties they know. And write them down on their books.
Ⅱ. Lead-in
Learn some new words and phrases.
T: Usually before my birthday, I will make an invitation to invite my friends . Some of them accept my invitation, they can come to my party. But some turn down my invitation because they are not available. I’m looking forward to hearing from you if you have parties. Then I will be very happy.
Ⅲ.Reading
1. T: Here David is going to hold a party for his teacher Ms. Steen. He made an invitation. Some students accept it, but some students turn down it.
Ss read the passage quickly and match the reasons with each message. Check the answers with the Ss.
2. T: Look ! There are five questions. This time you should read the passage a little more carefully. Then answer the questions. Ss read carefully and try to answer the questions. Check the answers with the class
3. Read the messages carefully and finish the tasks. Write down more phrases. Talk about some sentences and phrases.
4. Fill in the blanks with the right words. Then check each other. Read it
5. T: Nowadays, it’s very popular to have a house warming party when someone moves into his/her new house. The passage below is an invitation of a housewarming party. Read the invitation and complete the blanks with the words and phrases from the message on Page 69. Let some Students write their answers on the blackboard. check answers. Read it.
Ⅳ. After reading
1. Listen and answer questions. Then read it.
2. Pair work. Imagine one of your favorite teachers is leaving. Plan a party for him/her. Answer the questions with a partner.
